Answering Your Go Big Treats Questions

Hi friends! As we prepare for our first sale, I wanted to answer a few of the questions I’ve been receiving. Your support is what fuels Go Big Treats so I’m happy to answer any questions you may have. If you have questions, you can reach out to me at any time at Cheryl@gobigtreats.com or text at 306-551-6025.

Where are you located?

Right now we’re baking out of a residential kitchen. It’s super convenient to be working out of our home but this does limit how many cookies we can bake each week and the types of products we can provide to you. The government does allow for residential kitchens to sell low risk foods (cookies, baking, etc.) but it does have limitations, which means we can’t sell foods that require refrigeration like cheesecakes (but trust me, I make one heck of a delicious cheesecake). As we continue to grow, we hope to one day move to our own commercial kitchen where we can increase production and provide a wider variety of treats. Trust me, you’re going to want to try this cheesecake!

What are your hours?

Working out of a residential kitchen means we have to manage our time well – need to time batches of cookies just right so we have time to bake them in the one oven we currently have at home. This means some late nights and early mornings. We always want to offer you the freshest products so we try our best to make all our cookies the evening before a sale then decorate and package them the morning of the sale. So to answer your question, we don’t really have set working hours. We sell our products at pop up shops around the city on various days of the week and we’ll have all of those sales listed on our Shop page.

Do you guarantee your products to be nut free?

I’ve answered this on our FAQ page but it’s an important one so I’m going to answer it here as well. This is a tricky question to answer. Although we do our absolute best to keep our home 100% peanut and tree nut free (our youngest son has severe nut allergies), I’m not comfortable saying “guaranteed to be nut free”. Why? I know the severity of these allergies and although I do my very best to only use safe products, I rely on the labeling and manufacturing procedures of our suppliers. So although we do our very best to keep our home 100% peanut and tree nut free, I’m not comfortable giving that guarantee. If you have concerns about peanut and tree nut allergies, I’d be more than happy to discuss with you the products that I use, brands, ingredient information, etc. I don’t use anything from bulk bins (due to the possibilities of cross contamination) and I only purchase food items from companies that I trust with proper ingredients and cross contamination warnings clearly listed. If a product says “may contain traces of peanut and tree nuts” or doesn’t have an ingredient listing at all, I don’t buy it. I understand the severity of these allergies so feel free to reach out to me with questions or concerns and I’d be happy to talk to you in more detail.

When are you opening?

Trust me, I’m super eager to meet all of you and introduce you to Go Big Treats! We’re working hard behind the scenes to have our first pop up shop this month. As soon as we can confirm it, I’ll share the details on social media and update our Shop page.

Do you also sell sugar cookies?

If you mean those adorable decorated sugar cookies you see all over Instagram and Pinterest? Not yet. I have perfected the sugar cookie recipe but my decorating skills require some work. I have some great ideas for special event cookies – like bachelorette parties and divorce parties (yes, divorce parties are really a thing!) so we hope to get into decorated sugar cookies soon. If you or someone you know (in the Regina area) is a great sugar cookie decorator, please contact me so we can talk about potential employment on the Go Big Treats team!

Let me know if you have any questions and I’d be happy to answer them. We look forward to meeting you soon!

Introducing Go Big Treats!

The day is finally here! We’ve been looking forward to the launch of Go Big Treats for months now and we’re so excited to finally introduce you to our delicious XL cookies! Before we have our first sale, we want to introduce ourselves and give you a sneak peek of what’s to come.

My name is Cheryl – the owner and baker for Go Big Treats. I’ve been baking over the top treats since I was a little girl. My passion for baking started with my first Easy Bake Oven and I’ve loved baking ever since! Rather than repeating myself here – I’m going to direct you to our About page to learn more about me and the other people who help out behind the scenes.

Where can you find Go Big Treats? Are your products really nut free? Do you have any gluten free items? You’ll find the answers to these and many more questions on our FAQ page. If you don’t see your answer on that page, feel free to reach out to me through email at Cheryl@gobigtreats.com or text me at 306-551-6025 and I’d be happy to chat with you.

So what exactly are these XL cookies? We have 4 different base recipes right now: chocolate chip, double chocolate, chocolate fudge and oatmeal. These cookies are far from ordinary! First of all, each cookie is a full cup of batter. Yes, a full cup of batter in one cookie! These cookies are HUGE! Then each cookie has a fun theme and is topped with creative candy & chocolate decorations. Have I mentioned how delicious they are? We’ve taste tested and revised these recipes for months to make sure we bring you the very best, tastiest and most creative cookies we can. Our motto: If you’re going to cheat on your diet, make the calories worth it. You can read more about our delicious creations on our Menu page.

At the moment, we don’t sell cupcakes but we do have cupcake recipes on our website for you to make Go Big Treats at home. These aren’t your typical cupcakes – these are over the top and piled high with frosting and candies. Check out our Recipes section for more details.

Now for the really exciting part – meeting you guys! We’ll be having our first pop up shop sometime this month and we’re really excited to introduce you to our dessert creations. Stay updated on the latest sale information by following us on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. We’ll also keep our Shop page updated with the latest sale information.

We look forward to meeting you at an upcoming sale soon!
